Since Nov. 28, your Local 1747 Firefighters, in conjunction with the Kent RFA and the Kent Firefighters Foundation, have been collecting unwrapped, new toys to help make Christmas special for local families in need.
Yesterday, firefighters, their families and members of the public were able to deliver a semi-truck full of gifts for distribution throughout our community.
Local 1747, the Kent Firefighters Foundation and the Kent Regional Fire Authority are proud to once again be kicking off our Toys for Joy campaign. Toys for Joy is an annual event where new, unwrapped toys are collected, sorted, wrapped and delivered to local food banks and outreach programs to be distributed to local families in our community for the holidays.
Please watch our Healthy In, Healthy Out video to see the best practices Local 1747 and the Kent Regional Fire Authority are utilizing to protect our members! Also, you'll notice a guest spot by Mike Rowe of Dirty Jobs!

VOTE YES ON KENT RFA FBC VOTE – PROPOSITION 1
What is Proposition 1?
State law requires all Regional Fire Authorities to go in front of the voters to reauthorize their funding system every six years. THIS IS NOT A NEW TAX! It is simply a reauthorization of the existing voter-approved funding mechanism that is already in place.
Please find attached the flyer for a charity golf tournament presented by Local 1747. The tournament is on June 2 at the Riverbend Golf Course in Kent. All proceeds benefit the Kent Firefighter Foundation. Read More... Download: Golf flyer2017.pdf
A great tradition continued this morning as members of Local 1747 helped to deliver over 4,000 toys, along with stocking stuffers and stuffed animals, as part of Toys for Joy, a joint effort between the Kent RFA, Local 1747, the Kent Firefighters Foundation and our community.
The toys are delivered to close to 2,000 children who otherwise might not have such a merry Christmas. Read More...
